For years, companies in the cement industry have reduced their combustible cost through the use of substitute combustibles made of crushed wastes and simultaneously have decreased the use of primary sources of energy and of landfill space. Besides the separation of not desired materials from substitute combustibles, e.g. PVC, crushing represents the substantial processing step. More and more efficient injection procedures make higher and higher demands on the quality of the materials to be crushed. Requested is a small and injectable grain as well as a possibly homogenous grain size distribution.
The material to be crushed and its feeding form (loose/complete bales), the required grain size as well as the required flow rate and other customer-specific factors lead to the decision as to whether crushing is made in one step or in several steps.
Preliminary crushing is generally achieved in single-shaft crushers of the series Jumbo or Super-Jumbo which are designed with a rotor width of 600 mm to 3,000 mm and rotor diameters of 482 mm, 600 mm or 800 mm as well as with electric or hydraulic drive up to 2 x 110 kW drive rating. The granulate sizes achieved are 20-100 mm depending on the screen hole diameter. Depending on the grain size and the material, the flow rate is 3 to 10 t/h per crushing unit.
Subsequent crushing to injectable grain sizes (generally smaller than 10 mm) is performed in cutting mills of the series SMW or WLKM with drive ratings from up to 150 kW and flow rates up to 5t/h. Metal separating systems are integrated into the plants. With very rough metallic or mineral contamination the integration of an upstream rough crushing system with an appropriate separation of interfering materials is also possible. |
